Musician

Since my childhood years I have been playing guitar and over the years he learned to play several other instruments including the blues harp, oboe, percussion, drums, banjo, mandolin and piano. At the age of 17 my musical career as a singer began and I followed various courses and master classes including the Academy of Contemporary Music in London (UK ) and the Fontys Rock Academy in Tilburg (NL). In June 2010 I graduated as a Bachelor of Music (Hons degree) at the Conservatory in Amsterdam (NL), majoring in voice and minor in piano.

As a performing musician, I’ve gained experience over the past 20 years as lead singer and guitarist for my own bands and various cover bands. With my rockband Phoenix Red I’ve played own compositions in several national venues such as the Melkweg (Amsterdam, NL), 013 (Tilburg, NL), Mezz (Breda, NL), WII (Den Bosch, NL) and had the pleasure to play as the support act for an (inter) nationally well known band. We released one EP called ‘Madmans Cry’ in 2005. I have my own Blues/Jazz trio (Battle Creek Trio), I perform as a singer / songwriter under the name Grandler with a diversity of musical styles Blues / Jazz / Rock / Soul /Folk. Recently I do more studio and session work for other artists, using Grandler as my artist name. And since 2021 I work with some well known Rock & Blues artists of the USA, which I’m grateful for.
